NEWS RELEASE
On November 12, 2025, at approx. 5:45pm Yakima Police, Yakima Fire and AMR personnel were dispatched to the intersection of E Lincoln Ave and N Naches Ave to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. When first responders arrived, they located an adult female with a severe head injury lying in the middle of the roadway. First aid was provided on scene and then she was transported to MulitCare Memorial Hospital with significant injuries.
The initial investigation revealed a 2013 Lexus GS was driving west in the southern lane of E Lincoln Ave when the pedestrian entered the roadway from the north. The driver of the Lexus, a 23-year-old male, remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Neither speed or intoxicants appear to be factors in this case.
The 35-year-old female pedestrian was flown to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening head injuries and multiple broken bones.
The Yakima Police Department Traffic Unit will be investigating the collision and anyone with additional information, such as video, please contact Officer Darius Williams at 509-306-3814 or Darius.williams@yakimawa.gov.

Its not just homeless people that cross there alot of people/kids cross that intersection, pedestrians should look out for cars before crossing as should cars keep a look out for anyone crossing as well
I had to take a driver's defense class for a certain license I have and it was a great class it opened up my ways of driving because there where videos and testimonies of people who lost loved ones from vehicles and accidents. I think people who have speeding tickets or DUI should take the class so they are aware more that having a driver's license is a privilege not a right.
I was at a stop light at 6 PM and I didn't see 3 people cross the street until they completed their crossing. They were wearing dark clothing. Drivers and pedestrians both need to pay attention.
I know the post doesn't mention the driver being on their phone, but let this be an example and reminder of why we shouldn't be on our phones while driving and should pay attention to the road. Accidents happen and yes sometimes people just walk out in front of vehicles. But as drivers let's try to minimize the risk of hitting a pedestrian. All we can do is control our own actions and not the actions of those around us. So glad to hear the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative.
So thankful the driver didn’t flee. Sending positive vibes for both parties. I know there are a lot of bad drivers out there (I’m laying on my horn daily at morons) but sometimes you can’t see people walking at night in areas like Fair Ave and over on Lincoln where this happened! I had to drive around it to get my daughter somewhere and the roads you had to detour on were TERRIBLE with little to zero lighting. There are crosswalks for a reason but when people are in dark clothing it’s STILL hard to see them! Maybe the city should start looking into solutions. I know we are in a budget crisis but how many more people have to be hit for something to be done about poorly lit areas?! I’d imagine a crime reduction as well …. But I’m nobody so what do I know. ๐คท๐ปโ๏ธ
Hey guys, sometimes an accident is just that, an accident. Who knows what reason either one of them had for not paying enough attention an being aware enough to avoid this. Maybe they were tired, distracted by phones, distraught or having bad luck on a particularly bad day. I hope that poor woman will recover and soon, and I hope that they will both be okay.
Does anyone know who was hit or how I can find out
Xanen Burger literally the second one this week
The amount of people have been hit this year is ridiculous
Hope she recovers. God be with her. also the person who hit her. Sad situation on both sides
So sad ๐ฅ. I hope she recovers and the driver is okay. It has to be traumatic for him. I pray for both.๐๐๐
Yup especially in YakiMex
Sounds like she just walked right out in front of him amd he had no time to respond. Hope they are both ok.
Matthew Chase 2 in one day. So many lately
Prayers being sent
Praying for her in the Holy and Mighty Name of Jesus
There are so many of these incidents. It’s just sad. ๐

I recorded the incident, and I have uploaded it on my profile. Please take a look!!
So is this just a daily thing now?
Thanks Ili
I'm praying for both parties involved in this tragic situation. I drive in the area and so many times the "I'm Assuming that are homeless". Just walk out in front of you, not in a cross walk, but were ever they want like they dare you to hit them. It's very sad. I'm not sure what can be done. ๐ข๐ข๐ข๐๐๐๐
